The Discography Committee's mission is to facilitate communication with ARSC members regarding discographical research, practices, and projects; to identify any existing gaps in discographical resources and recommend steps for their remediation; and to facilitate communication about the field of discographical research with researchers, collectors, and related organizations.

The committee's objectives are to create and maintain a Database of National Discographies as a portal for discographies pertaining to the recorded sound output of specific nations and sub-national entities; to support the IASA Discography Committee’s building of an International Bibliography of Discographies by contributing information and coordinating efforts between members of both ARSC and IASA related to discographic research; to maintain regular communication with ARSC membership about needs and interests regarding discographic research; and to identify and prioritize additional projects that may require future committee attention or activity.

Membership on this committee is open to ARSC Members.
