The Association for Recorded Sound Collections

Speakers Bureau

Interested in engaging an expert on recorded sound to speak to your class or group? ARSC's membership includes experts who are enthusiastic to share their knowledge in a classroom setting!

The Association for Recorded Sound Collections has created a speakers bureau where educators may connect with experts in audio preservation and recorded sound heritage to arrange guest lectures either in person or online.

Who can request a speaker?

The speakers bureau was conceived with a formal classroom setting in mind. Instructors in archives, library science, recording arts, folklore, and other relevant programs are strongly encouraged to include guest speakers in their curricula. However, non-profit groups interested in audio preservation with an audience of 15 or more people are also welcome to request speakers.

Is there a fee for using the speakers bureau?

No. The speakers bureau is provided as a free public service, but speakers may request compensation for travel beyond a distance specified by the speaker.
